Hubert Earl Baggett, 79, died at his home Friday, January 26, 2018 in Jackson.

Mr. Baggett was born in Bertie County, May 30, 1938, to the late Cornelius Washington and Lucy Blowe Baggett. In addition to his parents, Mr. Baggett was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and Claude Baggett and his sisters, Lois Lowe and Evelyn Snipes.

Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Elma C. Baggett of the home; son, Pat Baggett of Scotland Neck and his daughter, Connie Wells and husband, Hugh, of Jackson. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Ashley Wells Spradlin and husband, Wesley, and Cody Wells.

The family will receive friends at Askew Funeral Services, Jackson Chapel Monday, January 29, 2018, from 7-8:30 pm. Rev. Robert Johnson will conduct graveside services Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at 2:00 pm in Jackson Cemetery. The North Carolina Department of Corrections will provide honors.
